With the roar in the dark cosmos, a command was given, Let there be Light & there was light. Light has lot of significance in almost all the cultures of the world. You might hardly find anyone who doesn't embrace light. The most important aspect is because it let's you see things clearly. Having said that, also make a note that there are life's, that embrace darkness, because they can see things clearly during night. Thus significant factor that embraces Diwali and celebration happen hugely all over Bharath is because it gives a message and hopes that we all are able to see things clearly. That's why saints like Buddha, Jesus, Lao Zu, Mohammed, Guru Nanak,  Namdev, Swami Rama, Ramkrishna,  and so many others are referred to the brightest light, which is inside, Enlightenment.
